The Gospel of Thomas

The Gospel of Thomas - translated by Mark M. Mattison, read by Christopher Warren.

The Gospel of Thomas is an ancient text that was discovered in the 1940’s. Many scholars and historians label this text as a gnostic heresy, while other strange fringes of Christianity pull new-age, confusing messages from it. However, a close examination shows that many of these sayings are strikingly similar to Christ as seen in the New Testament, and scholars must admit that they can’t know for sure when these sayings were originally written and compiled. They may have been written before the book of John and Matthew.

Rather than being guided by the intellect, and turning to scholars and endless different translations for spiritual truth, I believe we should lean on nothing but God himself. He’s the one who gives understanding, and his spirit brings all things to our remembrance. This was what Christ was trying to tell us all.
